IMA Newsletter March 2026
Term 2 2026

Believe it or not, we’re nearly at the end of the first quarter of 2026! We’ve started sending out term renewal information. Please help our admin team by booking your term of lessons as soon as possible. We work on an “opt-out” basis, so unless you tell us otherwise, we’ll assume that you’d like to continue with your lessons. Lessons for adults continue on over the holidays and we can definitely organise lessons for your kids during the break also, just let us know!
Phones

We’ve had a few technical issues with our phone system this last quarter. Our apologies if you’ve been having difficulties getting through. These problems have finally been fixed as of 19th March. If you get our voicemail, please leave a message and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
There’s also a direct SMS only number that you can use if you prefer:
+61 482 091 116
IMA Winter Concerts

The next IMA Concert Series is on Sunday 14/06/2026, with rehearsals on the 12th (18+) and 13th (U18) of June, respectively. Now’s the time to start discussing with your mentor whether or not you’re ready to perform in the concert, and if so, what’s the best song for you to choose. You'll need to be a current, enrolled client at IMA to participate. Please book in some lessons in preparation for the next concert if you’re not already enrolled.
If you’re not ready to perform yet, come along and enjoy the performances from your fellow music learners by being a supportive audience member. It’s a great afternoon / evening and I encourage everyone to get involved in any what that they can.
Jam Nights

Acoustic Jam Nights at IMA are a great way to get used to performing in front of a supportive audience made up of your fellow IMA clients. Acoustic Jam nights are designed primarily for our singing clients, and it gives you an opportunity to sing two songs with either a backing track, acoustic guitar or keyboard accompaniment (depending on the mentor hosting the evening).
Have a look on our website for more information. We hold the jams at both our Ashgrove and Browns Plains studios. Upcoming date are:
27th March Browns Plains Jam Night
27th March Ashgrove Jam Night
Social Strum

Our Social Strum nights are like attending a local gig, except that you get to play along with your guitar! This is a fun way to improve your chord changing and strumming skills while getting to play along with other guitarists and our Mentor Host. Ask your guitar or singing mentor for more info or have a look on the website.
Looking forward to seeing you all for an exciting next quarter.
